In these type of Bearings, rolling elements are cylindrical rollers. Ball Bearings have a POINT CONTACT on the races, whereas these type of Bearings have LINE CONTACT on races. Due to line contact, these type of Bearings have a greater load carrying capacity than the ball Bearings of same dimensions.

Due to detachable design character, they have an advantage of mounting inner and outer ring separately.
